Hiya,
So is everyone happy with where they're posted to for IAP? Happy or not, it's still too early to say ya? I wish everyone the best in your IAP. Do your best and do keep in touch to let everyone know how u're doing. Share with the rest on ur difficulties, complaints, and interesting things that happen at your workplace.
I'm going to Genting tmr and will be back on Monday! Till then, u all take care!

tis IAP is bullshit... we're are suppose to learn stuffs relevant to our course... Not sell stuffs or sit down do nuthin...
Jus send us to any place and dats it, da rest our problem...

yo.. dun look at it dat way lah. It focuses more on ur working attitude, how u work with others, etc. There's definitely some experience to be gained. Learn some new skills too and be an all-rounder! :)
Does that include cleaning up dirty mouse n keyboards?
hmm.. maybe they haven't got something for u to do yet. I'm sure they won't pay people juz to do those only.
400 a month is cheap labour. Even professional cleaners earn more than that. And cleaners only stick to cleaning and clearing
rubbish. But what if someone cheaper, can clean, can do many other things, force to look presentable, have some skills,
obligated to stick to the job, can't complain and your company have a huge event coming soon and you need the manpower to
do the rubbish jobs? Is that good investment or what? This companies are smart, they will pay some allowances to someone to
do tasks that full-time staffs that are unable, un-willing, in-cooperative or degrading enough to put them off. To hire a
student at that price for temporary measures is a very smart move, one big event is enough to cover the lost and the returns
in term of cash is abundant and the tasks that have left on the shelve gainning dust is done. Students gain the experience,
under the false pre-text that we are to learn something. But the returns we gain isn't worth it, if cleaning keyboards,
shredding, staring at walls is considered experience than we most be a valued worker by now considering that this happens
in our everyday lifes. Inter personal skills are important, but we gain that too when we come into the school, we all
started as strangers too; in fact we met strangers 3 times in our lifes at least. ITE is smart too, the lure of
400 dollars a month is a plain bait in the hook for companies short of manpower, wait! not short in terms of staffs,
but short for people to clear mess or lousy tasks that can't be avoided. Hiring adults to do that would be dumb,
so where to turn to? Hopeless, desperate, of course they turn to school waving students for 400 a month and they can't
leave as they need the grades.
Love it or hate it, we have to take it. Take
life with a pinch of salt thats what they said, don't forget that is a paradgim, a verse started by optimism for the
pesimistics. At the end of the day what we learn? Not much, maybe some new things, but a new hatred and anger for the
staffs that attached us there. Holiday bekons, so near yet so far is the right term for us.

The staffs there have things to do, time pass quicker there, for us seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours, blah blah blah. A workplace full of dust? unfriendly staff ideal? Listen here and listen good, we are not obligated to endure this? even we have too when we grow as you said this is life. I'm sure the pay is not 400 a month.

ya lo, wad jj jus mention is true... wad we expected from da IAP, and wad we got... If wanna tok bout werk experience, all of us got werk before... we jus need to learn things about IT, things we cant learn from school... if IAP is a module, i suggest scraping it.. either u give all equal werk or else dun give at all... N ya soon hong, when u kena werk outside den u noe... its not bout money, its too less.... bangla earn more...
FYI, I have two years of 'working life's experience' before studying at Dover. What jj said is true, cause the IAP is irrelavant to our course. I didn't say you guys are wrong. But as I said, this is life. If you think once entering working life, it will be better. Think twice. Not everything will goes your way, and not everyone too. Yeah, the pay is crap, but sad to stab you hard, our standards are crap too thus the pay. We have no choice but to take it or leave it. Not to debate with you guys. =P chill man... but try to see the good side of work and life.
FYI mr worked before wise guy. Ya working is never easy, when did i said working is easy? did any of my other post mentioned that i said work is easy? HELL NO, open your eyes man. Working is part of life i never debate it, i too worked before just like many others in the class. All of us struggled too have our problems, but the pay makes working much much bearable, 400 a month and have to endure burns, no air con, sit there nothing to do, get ridiculed, dirty ourselve and stuff is worth it? Lets put it to you this way, part time we can get from 800 - 1000+ of course i don't mind. But what is 400 man? You want you can have my pay and my place i take the grades and stay home nua. Pls OUR standard? Low? HOHOHO, you looked down upon yourself, the school? I don't boy i don't. if ITE cert is worth 400 haha, don't worry when i have a company i will hire you at that price don't worry

eh.. in poly the attachment pay is also about $400-$450. Only in Uni then students can get $600.
I apologise on behalf on the school if u're unhappy about the IAP module. From what I know, the companies request from us for IT support from attachment students. It's not like the school wants to anyhow put u in any place. And the IAP is part of this course modules, so just accept it, good or bad.
Some attachment students in poly also suffer the same fate. We can't get the best of everything. So just make do with what u've got and do ur best. Somemore it's not a permanent job.
This matter will be brought up to the higher management to see how things can be further improved. ITE is not perfect, so it should be given feedback and a chance to improve.

HOHOHO! Yes i am complaining, but I'm stating a point bout the pay to gain a point that its the relevancy and the point of our welfare and the "experience" gain. Quit? Yeap did that once, but unlike girls whom are damn lucky, no NS. We repeat one more time is against us. HAHA! Think man Think, this is a place to state our views, you want to say quit? Haha, the school say this is not important than I will.

even though my werkplace is at a WAREHOUSE, but still i'm having fun n da staffs dere r real nice n friendly...they patiently teach us wadeva we dunnoe...in juz 1 week, i learnt a lot...i dunnoe abt da rest but i'm having a great time...even though its just $400 still its da money dat i get for my hard work :>

hey, my attachment is like heel to me.. i am specialize in multimedia designing.. and i go there for sales and promoting parts.. i don think this attachment will lead me anywhere, and i don think i can learn anything bout IT there.. & THE IMPORTANT THING IS .. I REPORT FOR WORK ON A LATER DATE DUE TO A SCHOOL'S SEMINAR.. AND THE LADY BOSS IS GOING TO DEDUCT MY AND OMAR'S PAY ACCORDINGLY.. I MEAN.. WAT THE HECK IS THIS MAN.? ITS A SCHOOL ATTACHMENT.. NOT OUR OWN PERSONAL HOLIDAY.. AND SOMEMORE.. OUR SALARIES IS ONLY $400.. IF DEDUCTED.. I DON KNOW HOW LESS I WILL GET.. pls.. gimme a more suitable job.. !!
It's still under IT company. As I said, it's more on gaining the experience of working, not much so on learning more IT skills. Next time when u're out working u have to do much more than just IT. Please try not to be concern just over the pay, it's the experience that counts.

all u do is complain n complain. then try to find a suitable job for urself rather than getting ur hand pain juz to complain. u not happy, then go out and find werk ur self. u tink u so good isit? try to go to those multimedia company and see whether they will accept u BY UR BEHAVIOUR.
